Without a cape, without superpowers, and without secret weapons, she managed to forever change science, medicine, and the way we understand the universe itself.<\/p>\n<h2>The Heroine\u2019s Origins<\/h2>\n<p>Born in 1867 in Warsaw, Poland, as Maria Sk\u0142odowska, Marie Curie grew up in an era when women had few opportunities for higher education. But, like every great hero, she refused to accept the limits society imposed on her. With unyielding determination, she traveled to Paris to study physics and mathematics at the Sorbonne. <\/p>\n<h2>The Superpower: Seeing the Invisible<\/h2>\n<p>Where other scientists saw only minerals, Marie Curie saw something mysterious. Through endless hours of experimentation, she and her husband, Pierre Curie, discovered two new elements: polonium and radium. At the same time, she studied a new phenomenon that she herself named \u201cradioactivity.\u201d<br \/>\nLike a true superhero of science, she revealed forces of nature that had previously been invisible to humans.<\/p>\n<h2>Two Nobel Prizes \u2013 A Unique Achievement<\/h2>\n<p>In 1903, she became the first woman to win a Nobel Prize, receiving the Nobel Prize in Physics. In 1911, she won a second Nobel Prize, this time in Chemistry. To this day, she remains the only woman to have been awarded a Nobel Prize in two different scientific categories. <\/p>\n<h2>The Battle to Save Lives<\/h2>\n<p>During World War I, Marie Curie did not stay in the laboratory. She created mobile X-ray units, known as \u201cLittle Curies,\u201d which helped doctors identify soldiers\u2019 injuries on the battlefield. Thousands of lives were saved thanks to her knowledge and determination. <\/p>\n<h2>The Price of Heroism<\/h2>\n<p>Like many comic book heroes, Marie Curie paid a heavy price for her mission. At the time, no one knew the dangers of radiation. Her long-term exposure to radiation seriously affected her health and ultimately led to her death in 1934. <\/p>\n<p>Marie Curie didn\u2019t wear a mask. She didn\u2019t fly. She didn\u2019t have superpowers.
