Because every story has two sides!<\/p>\n
The forest was my home. I lived there and cared for it.<\/p>\n
I tried to keep it tidy and clean.<\/p>\n
One sunny day, while I was trying to pick up some trash that two hikers had, as usual, left behind, I heard footsteps. I jumped behind a tree and saw a little girl coming, carrying a basket.<\/p>\n
She seemed suspicious to me from the start, because she was wearing funny bright red clothes and her head was covered with a hood as if she didn\u2019t want to be recognized.<\/p>\n
Of course, I stopped her to investigate the matter.<\/p>\n
I asked her who she was, where she was from, and so on.<\/p>\n
She told me a story about an old lady who lived a little further down the road and that she was bringing her food.<\/p>\n
Basically, she might have been an honest person, but she was in my forest and looked very suspicious in those clothes.<\/p>\n
So I decided to show her how serious it was to trespass without warning, dressed strangely.<\/p>\n
I let her continue, but I ran ahead of her to her grandmother\u2019s house.<\/p>\n
When I met her friendly old lady, I explained my problem to her, and she agreed that her granddaughter needed a lesson. The old lady agreed to hide until I called for her. So, she hid under the bed.<\/p>\n
When Little Red Riding Hood arrived, I invited her into the bedroom where I was already in bed, dressed as Grandma. The girl came in and as soon as she saw me, she said something mean about my big ears.<\/p>\n
I\u2019d been insulted before, but I tried to be polite.<\/p>\n
I said that maybe my big ears allowed me to hear her better.<\/p>\n
In other words, I was showing that I liked her and wanted to catch everything she said.<\/p>\n
But she made another snide remark, this time about my bulging eyes.<\/p>\n
Now you understand how I began to feel about this little girl, who, while sweet, was also so mean-spirited.<\/p>\n
Despite all that, I have a habit of turning the other cheek, so I told her that my bulging eyes help me see her better.<\/p>\n
The next insult really got under my skin.<\/p>\n
I have a bit of a complex about my big teeth, and this girl made a snide remark.<\/p>\n
She asked me why I have such big teeth.<\/p>\n
I know I shouldn\u2019t have lost my cool, but I jumped out of bed and yelled at her that my big teeth were useful for eating her.<\/p>\n
Now let\u2019s be honest, no wolf would ever eat a girl\u2014everyone knows that\u2014but this crazy girl started running around screaming, and I was trying to catch up to her to calm her down.<\/p>\n
I even took off her grandma\u2019s clothes, but that seemed to make things worse.<\/p>\n
Suddenly, though, the door burst open with a loud bang, and a burly guy was standing in front of me with his axe.<\/p>\n
I looked at him and realized I was in big trouble.<\/p>\n
There was an open window behind me, and I bolted.<\/p>\n
I wish I could say that\u2019s where the story ends.<\/p>\n
But that grandma never told the truth.<\/p>\n
Soon, the rumor spread that I was mean and wicked.<\/p>\n
Everyone started avoiding me.<\/p>\n
I don\u2019t know what happened to that mischievous little girl in the funny red clothes, but I haven\u2019t had an easy time of it since then.<\/p>\n
So, I decided to write you my story, in the hope of saving my reputation, even now.<\/p>\n
And remember: don\u2019t believe anyone unless you hear the other side of the story.<\/p>\n
It might just be a fairy tale.<\/p>\n
